Extensive walks in the gardens of Brdo

Park Brdo is a treasure of carniola's aristocratic history with its impeccable gardens.

While you are walking or running through the park you can admire the park’s rich flora and fauna as well as the many sights of the park such as the Brdo Castle with its winery, the valuable sculpture collection, an artistic beehive, you can rest under a straw-covered local kozolec (a freestanding vertical drying rack).

The sculpture collection in the park represents the most integral Slovenian statuary art of the late forties and fifties, of the last century. Most of the sculptures were designed in 1947 for the external decoration of Villa Bled and the bank of Lake Bled but they merged with the surroundings of Brdo, where they found themselves two decades later. The collection is the work of renown artists.

The beehive, made in 1978 according to the plan of Zvonimir Korošec, is worth seeing, since famous Slovene painters painted the beehive boxes.
