Visitors of the Brdo estate can actively participate during their visit. Active kind of visit is meant for smaller (school-like) groups visiting the controlled environment as a big open-air classroom with the woody and watery paths. The visitors need to be keen to get to know the life in the woods and the processes of the nature.
Since the Brdo estate covers nearly 500 ha of surface we can take you through the Path of the Woods. This path is 5 km long and has 6 stops.
We recommend you to join the Path of the Woods with the Path of Watery Treasure, which will present the watery richness of 11 small lakes, each one bearing its own character. The Path of Watery Treasure is 4,5 km long and has 11 stops.
Both paths can be combined into a 10 km long complete presentation of the Brdo estate nature. Because of the relatively long distances it is also possible to visit the estate by a small bus or by bicycles.
The visit can be adapted to your desires and different, interesting contents can be emphasized. It is also possible to see an educational panel showing the intensity of the woods changes (one of eleven panels in Slovenia), forester’s hut Tolminka, hunting posts, beehive with endings painted by the renowned Slovenian painters, Lipizzaner horses and carriages.

Mandatory equipment: firm piece of surface for writing, pencil, comfortable footwear, and raincoat.
